CAGAYAN VALLEY, MOVE!

by Lenlen Polinar (Metro Manila Central A ROCK Cluster Ate)

Go wherever He leads you “For He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.” Being in a mission is to have Christ in you. It is wherein you surrender and offer yourself to the Lord for He said, "I have raised you up for this very purpose . . . that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth!" (Exodus 9:14-16). “Many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14). It was an answered prayer to have the Central A Mission Team who responded the call of God for North Eastern Luzon (NEL) Mission in Cagayan Valley. The team is composed of KFC Coordinators – Tito Loloy and Tita Lucy Polinar (Metro Manila Central A Sector Couple Coordinator and NEL Regional Couple Coordinator), Tito Nonoy Atizardo (Metro Manila Central A Sector Community Based Coordinator), Tito Rudy Regencia (Metro Manila Central A Sector LEAD Couple Coordinator), and Tito Noli and Tita Mel Azurin (Metro Manila Central A Sector Cornerstone Couple Coordinator) with their R.O.C.K. Facilitators – Robbie Regencia, Pearl Barretto, Lenlen Polinar, Christian Oblan, and Rannel Casimsiman. The team was more blessed to have Blair Jereza (KFC Full-Time Pastoral Worker) and Lloyd Polinar (KFC Mission Volunteer).

It took us almost nineteen hours of travel to get in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Valley from Manila. Tiring? No, it was awesomely AMAZING! Thank you to Tito Pete and Tita Beth Malaki (Family Ministry Head of CFC Cagayan) who let us stayed and rest in their home for our first night in Tuguegarao City. After a very long trip, it was with a big smile of gratefulness warmly welcomed us through our brethren in Calamaniugan which we saw Christ from each one of them.

It was in Dugo Elementary School, Calamaniugan, Cagayan Valley on the 21st of April, 2012 a day to remember. The Mission Team held a Couple Coordinators Training 1 (CCT1) as well as ROCK Weekend to evangelize and spread God’s love to those people who thirst for wisdom and knowledge about our community due to distance matters. They were the ones who wanted to share God’s greatness particularly to the Kids For Christ ministry in their area but they do not know where and how to start. God is so good that He gave us a lot of participants we didn’t expect. They said that it was 39° Celsius that time but how great is He that we did not feel that kind of hot temperature. What we only felt was the warmth love of our Lord flowing through us. Tita Julie Bumatay (CFC Cagayan Valley Provincial Area Director) gave the Welcome Address and the introduction of participants and Mission Team. Their Parish Priest gave us an Inspirational Talk to be treasured, then, followed by an energizing Opening Worship led by Kuya Blair Jereza.

In CCT1, Tito Noli Azurin delivered the first talk entitled “Being Called to Love and Serve the Little Ones.” Tito Nonoy Atizardo had the Talk 2 “Setting-up & Sustaining KFC in the Chapter” and Talk 3 “Roles and Responsibilities.” The Talk 4 “KFC Activities” has given by Tito Rudy Regencia and last but not the least, the Talk 5 “Heart for the Kids, Heart for the Service” by Tito Loloy Polinar.

In ROCK Weekend, Talk 1 “Do You Wanna R.O.C.K.?” was delivered by Pearl Barretto then we gave different workshops simultaneously: Kuya Blair Jereza gave the R.O.C.K. 101, then Speaker’s Workshop by Robbie Regencia, Storytelling Workshop by Lenlen Polinar, Case Study Analysis by Pearl Barretto, Designing KFC Activities by Kuya Lloyd Polinar, and Arts and Crafts by Christian Oblan. It was then followed by Talk 2 “R.O.C.K. Solid Foundation” delivered by Robbie Regencia and last but not the least, the Talk 3 “We R.O.C.K.” by Kuya Lloyd Polinar. The day was ended up by an extraordinary Praisefest also led by Kuya Lloyd.

It was very overwhelming for us that everyone gave their best to share our blessings what we have from our Sector. The Mission Team was touched as our brothers and sisters in Tuguegarao say their words of gratitude and appreciation to that very day. At least we helped those servants of God to spread the Good News in their area and start molding young Christ-like leaders.  It was fun making new friends in our community. This mission was a memorable one especially to us first-timers and seems that we want to go on more missions with Christ in us. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

As of now, the team is now working on the next mission… Nueva Ecija, here we come! MOVE by God, for God, with God!
